Next month, the Montford Point Marines, a group of Black American soldiers who were forced to segregated training and supporting roles during World War II, will be honored with Congressional Gold Medals next month, the Detroit Free Press reports. Last year, Congress voted for a Congressional Gold Medal for their service. President Barack Obama approved the honor.
